You claim that one of your
Technologies, the E+ Researcher, will change how I Search and Browse the
Web. Can you tell me how?
The i360 E+ Researcher provides a natural convergence of the Principles of
Information and Document Management, which have been part of the Personal
Computer Culture since the mid 1980s, and the Web Information Culture which
has changed the way we locate Information since the mid 1990s. The E+ Researcher, a new advanced breed of
Browser, maybe best described as Browser 2.0, allows users to easily express
all of their ideas and insights as a natural extension of their natural Web
Browsing experience.

The E+ Researcher: A new paradigm
for Browsing and Searching the Web
The Web Information Culture is centered on the
Browser. In the early days, the only
content you could Browse was found on the Web and was put there by people
with an intimate knowledge of HTML, the language of the Web. Web 2.0 is an emerging movement which
allows non-technical individuals to publish some of their Information on the
Web. Now both Web Professionals and
Web Users contribute to the wealth of Information available through the
Browser.
Next Steps: Streamlining Search Management to fit the
Mission
The Mission is the Reason for Search
Search is a powerful Application that we take for
granted. But how many of your
Missions can be satisfied with a single Search? Does a single set of Keywords completely
define your Information needs?
Managing Related Searches more like we manage Documents can have a big
Productivity Payoff…

Browsing and Searching the Web as it is Today

The Browser’s basic information model has not changed
significantly since it was introduced in the mid 1990s. The Browser doesn’t allow you to easily
maintain unique and distinct Browsing Research Sessions for later
retrieval. Once you exit your Browser,
the context of your Session, the interesting Sites or Pages that you may have
found, essentially evaporates. That
is, other than some very limited saving of Tabbed Browsing Sessions in IE7
and Firefox, you do not have the flexibility to save and maintain your
Browsing Research as you do your PC Documents. As you might be doing Medical Research for
your parents this morning, and a variety of Work Related Browser Research
during the day, in order to pick up where you left off on any of these
“Research Threads”, you must manually transcribe your links of interest into
traditional Documents, Notes, or Email Messages.
E+ Research Document Format (RDF) – Document Centric Browsing and Search
The E+ Researcher allows you to maintain as many unique
Browser Research sessions even more easily than maintaining Word
Documents. The advantages of PC
Document and Information Management are combined with the full power of the
Web Culture. The Research Browsing
experience even makes Search a more useful and manageable tool in compiling
this Research. You can even merge
your own Insights or Documents with Information you might find on the
Web. More importantly, you can save
your Research Documents and pick up where you left off at any point in the
future.

Most importantly, E+ Research can be shared with others in
several powerful ways. With 2 clicks of
the Mouse, you can publish your E+ Research to the Web and participate in the
Web 2.0 wave. With 2 clicks of the
Mouse, you can share your E+ Research privately with collaborators via Email. If your collaborators also use the E+
Researcher, they can transform your published Research into its Native
Research Document Format (RDF) and they can republish their own unique
extensions to this Research.
