Why would Vendors other than Google be interested in this
Document?
Google is a force that will change the landscape in
Enterprise Information Management and this document highlights some possible
evolutions in their offerings. Google has
a very high profile in the Industry and this makes it fairly easy to
extrapolate how some of their moves might have impact. For this reason, we positioned this
Document as one possible evolution of Technology using Google as a reference
point.
Other companies
would also be well positioned to evolve their strategies and offerings with
the Technology we present here. Let’s
outline some other possible Information Universes centered on other
companies.

i360 is currently a Windows only
technology and was built this way because many of the User Interface
challenges required the mature infrastructure pervasive on Windows and
Internet Explorer’s Base Object Model (for example, Firefox does not
natively support Drag and Drop).
Also, Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Outlook expose rich
Object Models and are also pervasive in the Enterprise allowing us to build
out a very rich User Centric Reference Architecture to help us demonstrate
our Complete Vision. See More…

HP is not a Search Vendor and is unlikely to become one
at this point in the Search Segments evolution. However, HP could “invent” a process to
helps all Consumer or Enterprise Users with the Information Processes which
naturally flow after your Search and “Find”.
In the Enterprise, HP has been concentrating mostly on
IT Infrastructure and managing their own HP offerings within the Enterprise
actually creates additional Information Management Challenges. The i360 Suite could be a great
integration agent for all of HP’s current Enterprise offerings and in
addition could provide an innovative Products Line in and of itself.

Do for the PC with iMapping what the iPhone has done for
Mobile Devices. Make a transition
(ala Google) to Information in the Cloud with pervasive access to selected
Information on your PC (or MAC),
iPod , iPod Touch, or iPhone and encourage Users from all platforms
to contribute to a more Apple Centric Information Universe. Putting better software on the PC than
Microsoft provides with Vista would give Apple even more “Innovation Mindshare”.
